Volunteers are essential to the Y's cause and to our future as a vital not-for-profit committed to developing community beyond our walls.
When you volunteer at the Y, you not only enhance your personal well-being, but also take an active role in bringing about meaningful, enduring change right in your own neighborhood. Our many volunteer positions include Boards of Advisors, Sports Coaches, Special Events, Branch Support, Tutoring, and so much more.
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Gateway Region YMCA. We are no longer able to accept court-appointed community service hours.
WHY VOLUNTEER?
🤝 Strengthen Community
🌟 Increase Self-Confidence
📄 Gain Valuable Skills
💜 Transform Lives
Youth Education
Volunteer positions in Youth Education read to children and help increase reading, math, and English skills. An hour or two can make a huge difference!
Sports Coaching
Teach children to love various sports and teamwork. You can also volunteer with our Adaptive Sports program, promoting the inclusion of people with disabilities in sports!
Event and Branch Support
Whether it's supporting fundraising events, outreach days, food distribution, etc., there are plenty of ways support neighbors in our community.
Togetherhood®
The program is run through individual Y branches as a partnership between a committee of members and a Y Staff Advisor. It is designed to be a simple, fun and rewarding way for members to identify ways that they can give back and support their neighbors through their own ideas, skills and energy, and the network of the Y.
STAY INVOLVED
Volunteering at the Y is just one way to get involved with us.
